Felt Camp

Updated: May 6, 2021

I spent almost two weeks immersed in a wonderful Felting Camp. Run by Corinna Nitschmann, hopefully every year, this first English Language version was a great success. (search for her name and get on a mailing list for future felting events) Five workshops, with five zoom "show and tell" events with felters from all over the world. What fun we had. An absolutely wonderful way to shake off the effects of being stuck in Covid lockdown. Working with pebbles and buttons from my stash, I made a ring and two pendants. Using faux leather in star and circle shapes, instead of leaves, I made a hand dyed triangle merino and silk scarf. I created two puppets on a day where I was felting from 8 am to 10:30 pm (my choice to make two instead of just one - I have two grandkids). I made a super thick and sturdy teapot cozy in the shape of a cute house, and a prefelt woven sphere. Lots of new techniques and lots of new friends.
